Moving Along

While we wait for the floors to be complete, I have been starting to plan for the next phase of our renovations. Since our daughter likes to change her room up from time to time, we decided to DIY paint her room. We did one wall with a pop of color and the rest white. This way if she feels like a refresh, we can do it fairly easily. We used Clare Paint, a woman, minority and interior designer-led brand, for all the primer and white paint. This paint is zero VOC and GREENGUARD Gold Certified and formulated, keeping in line with our sustainable renovations. They offer a rich color palette and even offer a paint supply kit of their own, which includes a recycled plastic tray liner for easy clean up. For the colored wall we used Behr Primer Plus also VOC Free and Green Guard Certified. The reason we did this was it already had the primer in it and that would save us on having to prime an additional wall. We trusted being we were going darker the in-paint primer was more likely to work. We are pleased with the turn out. This upcoming week her floors will be sanded and stained while we continue to hunt for the perfect sustainable bed, duvet, nightstands and accessories. Will upload more about the process in the coming days on Instagram and Tik Tok.
